Wow! It has been over a year since last I wrote. Many things have happened since then. I began going to a vocational school in Tempe back in August 2009 to take a Medical Billing course and working full time well that took up my whole day. I did that for 9 months, man was I exhausted by the time I finished. Then Chico and I start talking about a change of pace in our lives and believe it or not we put our home up for sale, we resigned from our jobs and decided to move to Las Vegas! Yup, we are now living in Las Vegas!!! I mean who were we kidding?! We have visited Las Vegas at least 3 times per year since we married and we completely love this city! We were bound to move here sometime...so we just decided to do it now. To tell ya the truth moving was not so easy. We both left our families and all our friends and we do really miss them but it just comes a point in life that you just need to do that one crazy thing, so 6 weeks after we decided to move we were living in Vegas. EVERYONE has said we are crazy but we are loving it. We feel very calm, peaceful and of course relaxed but if we just want to go partying, well the strip is just 7 miles away from my home, it's like having it in my backyard! You just can't beat that!

Spare of the Moment
Two weeks ago on a Friday evening Chico and I were sitting in our living room watching tv when he asks me what we would do over the weekend (since we are usually busy). At the same time he asked the weather report came on for that weekend and indicated that Flagstaff would be 79 degrees over the weekend. We stared at eachother and he asks "Want to go to Flagstaff?" and after having soooooo many weeks of 115 degree weather in Chandler, I quickly resonded "SURE!" We both went to the computer and booked a hotel room for the weekend and started packing, got up early the following morning and headed to Flagstaff. We had an awesome time! The weather was wonderful! Very chilly at night, dropping the weather to mid-40's (have not felt that in a long time!). Saturday we went and watched the Cards practice during the day and at night we headed to downtown Flagstaff for a great Sushi Dinner and some dancing. It was just great doing something different and enjoyable with of course a wonderful weather.

Joseph's 17th Birthday
Heart Walk - Tempe Town Lake
Also in February was the Heart Walk, and this year I decided to participate and join the Longfellow group. Here is Maria with Rick (?) from channel 3.

Originally there were like 13 -15 people signed up to attend from Longfellow but at the end only 4 of us showed and my husband. So we were representing Longfellow. We had fun, it was unbelievable the thousands of people that showed up to do the walk. Maybe next time we will prepare better to have a bigger group attend.

Sushi Time!!
Okay, okay! I am turning out to be overly obsessed with sushi. We actually go eat sushi every week, so not kidding about it. I actually look forward to it. Chico found this sushi restaurant near where he is working now and he had been telling me alot about it so we decided to go there instead of our usual place one week. There sushi is pretty good. The name of the restaurant is Pan Asia, and they have a wonderful presentation on their food, so nice that I took pictures of our plates.

Payson trip
The weekend after Christmas we went up to Payson to spend some time in the snow, since it had not been that cold down here at home. We enjoyed our time up there but it was just too cold for us. We are not use to that type of weather. I had the hardest time trying to walk in the snow, I just looked funny. But it was a nice time. We went with Chico's sisters' family.
Just fooling around, since we rarely get to see snow.

Congratulation's David & Melizza
Okay, it was last year since the last time I wrote and of course many things have happened since then. First of all we had a great new year's. We went to Chico's aunts house for new years and it was fun. Many of his family were there and of course there was alot of joking and talking. Well going back to the subject of this post, David and Melizza spent their new year's in Manzanillo, Mex. so we didn't see them till they got back and yes they brought us some souvenirs but the most exciting thing was the news they had for us. It turns out that Melizza is pregnant!! We were not able to tell anyone because they wanted to keep it a secret for a while till they felt comfortable letting their family and friends know. She is now 3 months along and she has good days -sometimes :). Well congratulations David and Melizza on your new journey!

P.S. the reason the color of the font is pink is because they are really hoping for a girl -- let's see!

Christmas Celebration
We planned our own christmas celebration along with David and Melizza this year. We got out of work early on the 19th and we went to the movies and saw "Seven pounds" with Will Smith. It was a very sad story, kind of confusing at first but later I catched on and I had to hold in my tears to not ruin the makeup. Well after the movie we had a limousine pick us up and take us to dinner at Maggiano's. We had a blast and it was so nice to not worry about who is going to drive - since we had our limo with us! Like around 10pm we went to "Ninja" which is the sushi restaurant we usually go to and picked up our Sushi Chef, Dan, and his sister Micky and we all went to Cadillac Ranch to have some drinks and to dance. We were there for a few hours and then headed home to rest. It was really great doing this for a change, hopefully we are able to plan this for next year!

Thanksgiving
This Thanksgiving Jorge and his family came to visit. We had lots of food. Cooked all morning and spent the afternoon eating a little of everything we had.

On Friday night we had a sibling/spouses night out, so we went to Native New Yorker for happy hour. We ordered lots of wings and we told stories of when we were younger and talked about what is going on in our lives now. I rarely get to see my brothers since they all live in different places, so it is nice to catch up when we see eachother. (From left to right: Elvira, Jorge, Irad, Chico, Me, and Rose.) Jorge, Irad and I are the siblings and the rest are the spouses! We had so much fun that night.

My Birthday
Like always I'm posting long after the fact, but Nov. 13 was my birthday. It really was not a good one, my father was scheduled for minor surgery to get a fibulator. This is suppose to monitor his heart rythm and shock it if it indeed does not follow its regular rythm. So I spent the whole day in the hospital for my birthday, but everything turned out very well for dad. He is still not back at work because the doctor has given him many restrictions but he says he feels very well and he looks really well too. So after we left the hospital that night like about 10pm, Chico took me to Blue Wasabi to "celebrate" my birthday. I just ordered a martini to relax after such a hectic day and we ordered a sushi roll for each.

Before I forget, the day before we celebrated my birthday at work, we had lots of fun. Here are the pictures I took
Nancy Gomez is such a talented person. She made me this cake for my birthday. The bag is actually the cake; the lipstick, napkin and the olive inside the glass are also eatable. She is so creative and she comes up with the most unbelievable things.
AZ State Fair
Back in October we went to the state fair along with David and Carolina. We had so much fun and we enjoyed it very much. We stayed till it closed, they practically kicked us out! We got in a canoe ride and here is the picture after ward:

David and I got on the big drop, I can't even explain how that feels:
