Christmas Celebration

We planned our own christmas celebration along with David and Melizza this year. We got out of work early on the 19th and we went to the movies and saw "Seven pounds" with Will Smith. It was a very sad story, kind of confusing at first but later I catched on and I had to hold in my tears to not ruin the makeup. Well after the movie we had a limousine pick us up and take us to dinner at Maggiano's. We had a blast and it was so nice to not worry about who is going to drive - since we had our limo with us! Like around 10pm we went to "Ninja" which is the sushi restaurant we usually go to and picked up our Sushi Chef, Dan, and his sister Micky and we all went to Cadillac Ranch to have some drinks and to dance. We were there for a few hours and then headed home to rest. It was really great doing this for a change, hopefully we are able to plan this for next year!

Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving Jorge and his family came to visit. We had lots of food. Cooked all morning and spent the afternoon eating a little of everything we had.
On Friday night we had a sibling/spouses night out, so we went to Native New Yorker for happy hour. We ordered lots of wings and we told stories of when we were younger and talked about what is going on in our lives now. I rarely get to see my brothers since they all live in different places, so it is nice to catch up when we see eachother. (From left to right: Elvira, Jorge, Irad, Chico, Me, and Rose.) Jorge, Irad and I are the siblings and the rest are the spouses! We had so much fun that night.
Shockingly enough I can't remember if we went to Rawhide on Friday or Saturday! Weird how that happened, but anyway we all took a little trip to Rawhid and took a pic right in the entrance. I think it is a really nice family picture.

Chico's birthday: take 2

I forgot to post that for Chico's actual birthday we celebrated with David and Melizza and went to Maggiano's for dinner. If you have not been there, you might want to try, they make really good food.

My Birthday

Like always I'm posting long after the fact, but Nov. 13 was my birthday. It really was not a good one, my father was scheduled for minor surgery to get a fibulator. This is suppose to monitor his heart rythm and shock it if it indeed does not follow its regular rythm. So I spent the whole day in the hospital for my birthday, but everything turned out very well for dad. He is still not back at work because the doctor has given him many restrictions but he says he feels very well and he looks really well too. So after we left the hospital that night like about 10pm, Chico took me to Blue Wasabi to "celebrate" my birthday. I just ordered a martini to relax after such a hectic day and we ordered a sushi roll for each.
Before I forget, the day before we celebrated my birthday at work, we had lots of fun. Here are the pictures I took

Nancy Gomez is such a talented person. She made me this cake for my birthday. The bag is actually the cake; the lipstick, napkin and the olive inside the glass are also eatable. She is so creative and she comes up with the most unbelievable things.

AZ State Fair

Back in October we went to the state fair along with David and Carolina. We had so much fun and we enjoyed it very much. We stayed till it closed, they practically kicked us out! We got in a canoe ride and here is the picture after ward:

David and I got on the big drop, I can't even explain how that feels:

Happy Birthday Baby!

Yep, he's my baby and I love him alot! Nov. 4th was his birthday. We had a party for him the Saturday before since it fell on a Tuesday this year. At first he was all bummed out for turning 28, you know since it is getting closer to 30! But he came around and I think he actually enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. I still have not dowloaded pics from that day into the camera, but as soon as I able to I'll post them. Happy Birthday!

5th Anniversary

Time goes by too quick! On October 11th, 5 years ago Chico and I got married. I cannot believe how time went by. For our anniversary we did not do anything too fancy this year, since we LOVE sushi we went to Blue Wasabi for dinner had some great sushi and martini's and then afterward we watched Nights in Rhodante, which turned out to be a very nice but sad story and after the movie we just walked around The Village and went into some shops. It was really nice and calm, which I think we both needed some tranquility and time to ourselves.

Celebrations

During the summer David Melizza and us decided to plan a vegas trip to celebrate their birthdays and our anniversary. We thought it was a great idea, since we love to go to Vegas! We spent most of our summer planning it. We counted every day before our departure and the day of we were counting the hours. We went and we all had a blast. I was actually worried because that week before we left I got really sick but I would spend 24 hours on medication and on Friday when we left I was fine and dandy! We enjoyed our time sooo much and of course the days went by so quick, we really didn't want to come back. We even met up with Genessee and her sister and went out dancing one night, that was awesome! On our way back we were already planning a second trip some time. It will not be this year, but who know maybe the next!

Our Sushi Experience

I heard the work Sushi and I would say, yuk! Well David and Melizza really love it and one day we were at their home visiting and they suggested to go eat dinner at a Sushi restaurant. I said "No Way, I'm leaving!" They told me that I should try it, just once and if I didn't like it I could order something else since the restaurant does not do only Sushi. So Chico and I said we would go but they would not pressure us into eating it. We went and to tell you the truth I felt scared. I had many things going through my mind, the main was that I was telling myself not to throw up. So the food comes and this happens...

WE LOVED IT!!!!! Yup, I was surprised about the outcome, but now every chance we get we go out to a Sushi restaurant, and we even crave it at times. What an experience!

Time goes by

Well it has been a while since I last wrote, but many things have happened. I stopped writing because I spent most of my free time planning my mother's 60th surprise birthday party. Her birthday was this past August 27th. We did her party on August 16th (which was Irad's birthday) because she was leaving with my brother Octavio on a road trip. She was really surprised, all along we made her think that we were going to do a get together for Irad. All my brothers were able to make it and she was really happy about it. Everything turned out as expected. Here are some pics of that day.

The Circus

Chico and I LOVE the circus. Since we were dating we've gone every other year. I am not sure what it is that makes us still love it, eventhough we are not kids anymore. Maybe because we missed it in our childhood. I only went once as a kid and I had to be small because what I remember of it is a big dark noisy place, but I can't recall what I saw. Chico's story is different, he would try to sneak in and had luck sometimes and he recalls being amazed at some of the acts that were performed. When we are there, we do act like two little kids and we enjoy it so much! Yup, that is our little secret, we are still two little kids.

Summer Break

Okay so one week has gone by since I started my summer break and yes your right, I have not gone through with any one of the ideas I had in mind to do. I know it is not a shocker to most of you. But I can say that I have gotten a well deserved rest. However, I have been going through closets and taking stuff out that I had no clue that I still had and I've been getting rid of it. Since I never really have any one over to my house, my guest room had become a closet. Yes it is nice to have that big of a closet, but it just did not look right, so I starting orgainizing it just in case I get a guest. SURE...

On Vacation

So I have to share with everyone that I am finally on summer vacation. I get two weeks off and I am really excited. I have many plans. I really have all these neat ideas of things I want to do around the house and I am really looking forward to it. Now if you know me very well, you would know that I am not crafty, creative and that I have minimal patience, so let's see how my "ideas" go...

Father's Day

We did not do anything big on father's day this year. We just took dad out to lunch. The heat was horrible and none of us were up to doing anything. Here are some pix I took at the restaurant.

Do you like the new look?

So I am getting better at this whole blogging. I found this new site (Pyzam.com) where you can get all these neat templates for your blog. There were too many, it was hard to decide but I will stick to this one for a while and maybe later I'll change it.

Weird AZ

Last Monday and Tuesday the tempeture in the metro area was over than 100 degrees!!! Then I wake up Thursday and it is cloudy and windy. I think to myself that it will be hot again before lunch time...WRONG!!!! It starts raining and as the day goes by it keeps getting colder. Here I am wearing sandals and of course no sweater. After school, it starts pouring (of course) and we have a major traffic jam in the parking lot at work. I go outside (yes in sandals and no sweater) and start directing traffic, telling students to walk not run or they might slip and making sure that our principal doesn't get run over by angry parents. Our crossing guards had the only umbrellas that the school owns so in just seconds my clothes and feet were all wet, at that moment I am too busy, therefore do not feel cold. Then we got most of the cars out of the parking lot and feel confident to go back inside the office. I sit at my desk and it hits me... the A/C (yes it is on)!!! I feel my toes starting to freeze and my body shivers. As soon as I was able to I left work and headed home, on my way I put the heater on and literally feel like I am defrosting. I get home change and get into bed, aahhh my cozy bed and then I think "How weird can Arizona weather be!"
Of course now we are back to the 90 degree range.

Vegas Baby!!!

We went to Vegas for a weekend and had a great time. Carlos and Nora went with us and I think we all enjoyed it! Here are some pictures that we took, they are alot so make sure to have some time to see them all!!!

Nancy's Birthday

April 18th was Nancy's birthday and we had cake to celebrate it.

Isn't it a cute cake??? We ordered it from Terri's Cake Creation. The reason of the theme is because Nancy is Mrs. Fix everything or like we call her "Tool Time"

I think we enjoy work too much sometimes...
